historic inn located in the pochuck valley
We are proud to be the next stewards of this amazing property. We inherited from Lauren & Leigh, the previous innkeepers, a destination with distinctive personality, great bones and a rich history. We intend to create products, spaces and experiences driven by design and then paired with premium guest service.

FOX & BEAR LODGE!
Nestled beside a running stream, this family owned and operated 1831 colonial mansion is located only 60 minutes from New York City in the scenic Pochuck Valley, the heart of the Skylands. Our exquisite three-level home features wrap around porches and awe-inspiring views of the countryside. Fox & Bear Lodge is comprised of 8 lush guest rooms, painstakingly restored to preserve the original character of the house, while at the same time delivering modern upgrades designed for our guests' comfort. We've infused it all with a sense of intimacy and warm personality, honoring the buildings' solid bones and graceful architecture with timeless design.
All rooms at Fox & Bear Lodge have their own private en-suite bathrooms. All stays include a continental breakfast with most of the items you find being made in-house or coming from no more than 50 miles away. Whether you enjoy it leisurely in one of our many common areas, or on the trail before a hike (grab 'n go bags available), you will start your day off ready for whatever should come your way.
We LOVE well-behaved dogs (under 35lbs, 2 max), so feel welcome to bring them along for your getaway! If your dog is a bit on the larger side, we will review those requests on a case to case basis. We do charge an additional fee of $100/stay to help cover the costs of cleaning. We also ask that pups joining the trip are quiet and comfortable while unaccompanied in your room while you are out, so as not to disturb other guests. Please let us know at the time of booking if you plan to bring your furry friend along.
FROM OUR GUESTS
"The Fox & Bear Lodge is a fantastic place to stay! It's close to the Appalachian Trail and beautiful farmland and wetland reserves in the area. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. Dearrick and Brant are helpful and work to accommodate any guest needs. The lodge has a wrap around porch for enjoying coffee, tea or cocktails, and there is a campfire for s'mores in the evenings! I highly recommend this lodge!!! They will be opening a coffee shop there soon. We had a wonderful visit and will definitely return!"

BEEKMAN 1802 BATH & BODY
Using kindness as their guide, Beekman 1802 was built, neighbor by neighbor, on the foundation that a community that works together is also happier, healthier, stronger together.
2 QUEENS COFFEE
Every batch of 2 Queens coffee starts with the best green beans hand selected by Martin and roasted to absolute perfection.
Founder Benjamin Gott had a simple idea for a new type of packaged water. The mission was to fulfill the need for packaged water in a more environmentally-friendly way that allows us to give back.
THE NJ FARM AT GLENWOOD MOUNTAIN
All of the eggs, honey, and most of the meat, used at "the Lodge" come from this 180-acre family farm located around the corner. The pigs & poultry are given supplemental feed that is made fresh on the farm weekly using 100% non-GMO, locally grown grains.
FINDING HOME FARMS
Proudly gathering and producing pure maple syrup in the Hudson Valley. The New York maple farm is made up of thousands of sugar maple trees which provide the resources to create a smooth and savory real maple syrup. Certified organic, their pure NY maple syrup is handcrafted for you and your loved ones to enjoy.
POCHUCK VALLEY FARM
We walk over every morning to pick-up their famous apple cider donuts, made fresh at 7am, for our guests. Originally built in 1863 as a Methodist Church, it has now been a family run business for over 100 years. We are lucky to have them as neighbors.
Details matter. From the hook on the back of the dispensers to the odor masking technology in the dog poop bags, they are always evolving to stay on top of the needs of pet owners. Because when it comes to cleaning up pet mess, there is zero margin for error.
BOCCE DOG TREATS
Andrea started Bocce's in 2010, with her sister, Natalia, joining the team shortly after. The Bocce's team is based in NYC and is still a family affair. Founded in a tiny West Village kitchen with a mixer, an oven, and a scruffy mutt named Bocce with the belief that dogs deserve better food with fresher, simpler, all-natural ingredients.
